AEC Pilot for IT administrators

What an IT team needs to allow AEC Pilot on company computers: the addresses it connects to, the ports it opens on the computer itself, how it installs, and what data leaves the computer.

Website blocked by a company web filter?

aecpilot.com was registered in September 2026. Some web filters block new domains for their first weeks, or until they have put the site in a category. Allowing the addresses below solves it at once.

Addresses to allow

All connections go out from the computer over HTTPS, port 443. Nothing connects in from outside, so no inbound firewall rule is needed.

AddressUsed for
www.aecpilot.comThe website: download, account and licences, documentation. Opened in the browser.
licensing.aecpilot.comLicence check and activation from inside the Autodesk applications: when an application starts, then at most once an hour.
aec-licensing.aecpilot.workers.devBackup address of the same licence server, used only when the first one does not answer.

Only needed for the features that use them:

AddressUsed for
api.anthropic.com
api.openai.com
generativelanguage.googleapis.com
api.deepseek.com
Pilot AI chat inside the application, with the provider the user picks: Claude, OpenAI, Google Gemini or DeepSeek. The user’s own API key is used, and the conversation goes directly from the computer to that provider, not through AEC Pilot.
developer.api.autodesk.comRevit only: browsing cloud models in Autodesk Docs, with the user’s own Autodesk sign-in.

AEC Pilot uses the computer’s proxy settings. If your proxy inspects HTTPS traffic, Windows must trust its root certificate.

AEC Pilot never downloads or installs updates by itself. When a new version is out it shows a notice, and installing it stays with the user or IT.

Ports on the computer itself

So that AI assistants such as Claude Desktop, Cursor or Codex can work with the open model, each Autodesk application opens a small local server. It answers only requests from the same computer (127.0.0.1) and refuses every other address. It takes the first free port in its range:

ApplicationPorts
Revit7823–7838
AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Advance Steel7900–7915
Navisworks7950–7965
Inventor8000–8015
3ds Max8050–8065
Robot Structural Analysis8100–8115

These ports need no firewall rule.

Installation

  • One installer adds AEC Pilot to every supported Autodesk application it finds: AECPilot_v…_Setup.exe, on the download page.
  • It installs for all users of the computer and needs administrator rights.
  • Program files go to C:\Program Files\7Dimensions\AEC Pilot\. The add-ins are registered in each Autodesk application’s standard add-in folder.
  • In Installed apps it appears as AEC Pilot™ All-in-One, publisher 7Dimensions OÜ.
  • Setup asks for the Autodesk applications to be closed before it installs or updates.

Allow the publisher, not the certificate

The installer and the add-ins are signed with a Microsoft-issued code-signing certificate in the name of 7Dimensions OÜ. The certificate is renewed every few days, so allow-list the publisher name, not a certificate thumbprint.

What data leaves the computer

  • Licence check: the licence key, the Windows machine ID and computer name, the AEC Pilot version, and which Autodesk application and version is running. The username is sent once, at activation.
  • Usage statistics: only if the user agrees; each Windows user is asked once. They count which tools are used and how often they fail. They never contain models, drawings, file or project names, prompts or AI replies.
  • Pilot AI: goes directly to the AI provider the user chose, with the user’s own key. AEC Pilot servers never see these conversations.

Models, drawings and project files are never sent to AEC Pilot. More in the privacy policy.

Files on the computer

  • %APPDATA%\7Dimensions\AECPilot\: the licence and tool settings. The licence is encrypted for the Windows user.
  • %LOCALAPPDATA%\7Dimensions\AECPilot\: Pilot AI settings, conversations and logs. AI provider keys are stored encrypted for the Windows user.

Requirements

  • Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit.
  • At least one supported Autodesk application; see Getting started.
  • Nothing else to install: the add-ins run on the Autodesk application’s own .NET runtime.
